LA-based designer Ashley Drost has a knack for creating a sense of home coupled with sleek design in her undertakings—be it a private home or office. Drost has parlayed her talents into a line of objects and accessories through her studio and blog, Meadow at Dusk where you can purchase her latest creations.
Meadow at Dusk all began with a collection of vintage textiles and her mother's old sewing machine. Drost traveled throughout LA to estate sales, antique stores, and auctions to find Saltillo blankets of exceptional quality and color and turn them into unique, one of a kind handmade pillows, keychains, and home goods. She has most recently jumped to using African mudcloth in her latest pillow line.
Read on to find out what her great loves are, how she caters to her clients' design desires and her penchant for architectural beauty.

NAME SOMETHING YOU LOVE.
I love a great pair of shoes, because they can just make you feel so good.
WHAT IS KEY TO YOUR PROCESS?
The most important thing for me is an understanding of my clients and how they want to feel in their home. It is my job to create a space that’s not only beautiful but also functional for their lifestyle.
WHAT IS YOUR DREAM PROJECT?
Lately I’ve dreamed of designing a restaurant or bar. I love to eat out and try new restaurants and I think the interiors are just as important as the food.
WHERE WOULD YOU LIKE TO LIVE?
I could see myself in a city like Paris, surrounded by incredible architecture and culture. My French is pretty rusty though.
ON YOUR DEATHBED, LAST MEAL IN LA?

WHERE CAN WE FIND YOUR WORK?
You can see my interior design work in homes throughout Los Angeles, and you can find my pillows in boutique shops in LA and Portland, or my online shop
